The International Congress of the German Association of
Osteopaths (VOD) is breaking fresh ground. The congress made a name for
itself during the twelve years it was held in Schlangenbad, near
Wiesbaden, as a forum for qualitatively first-class osteopathy with
speakers and participants from around the world. In 2010, the
Association is indeed implementing a decisive principle of osteopathy
with its premier on “Campus Lehre” in the University Medical Centre of
Hamburg-Eppendorf (UKE): life is movement. New stimuli and advancements
will determine this 13th International Congress in Hamburg. Further
education, information and an exchange of ideas at the highest level
with renowned speakers on the main topics of “Osteopathy for Children”,
“Science and Osteopathy” and “Philosophy and Osteopathy” will dominate
happenings here in northern Germany over four days. Besides highly
interesting lectures, seven workshops and a varied leisure programme,
the postgraduate courses with Renzo Molinari on the one hand and Lynn
Haller and his team from SCC London, on the other, will also be a true
highlight.
We wish to welcome most
cordially all the faithful followers and new faces in Hamburg, who are
inspired by osteopathy. We are particularly proud to have the patronage
of two leading personalities: Ole von Beust, First Mayor of Hamburg, and
Prof. Udo Schumacher (med.), Chair of the Department of Anatomy in UKE.
We are also very pleased to welcome the Director of the Kirkville
Museum, Jason Haxton, who will be telling us about new museum exhibits.
